IT Service Management case studies for small businesses
As Goitil was put together and I spoke to small business owners about IT Service management, it was difficult to articulate exactly what it is and how it can help SME's. The easiest away to bring it alive was to put it in a context that they understood and which was relevent to their industry, hence the reason for these case studies.
Based on typical business examples blended with real situations and encounters, the aim of the case studies is to illustrate a typical small business challenge and how simple service management activities could help to overcome thier problems or prevent them happenining in the first place.

A trailer manufacturing company with a number of PC's. These have very little formal support and what does exist does not meet the current business needs. Their is also a concern regarding the data recovery of the customer database and trailer schematics.
A local newsagents chain with 4 shops. Two have a highly computerised set of processes but the recent purchase of two others with no computerisation is causing problems.
