1) Business Health check: Your starting point on the road to using ITIL processes within your company. Once you are allocated a consultant you will receive an in-depth questionnaire designed to discover key information about your companies IT services and how they are managed. This will take you approx 4 hours to complete and the more information you are able to provide the less additional communication you will receive and the more in-depth your report will be. The report is available in Word and PDF format and is normally completed electronically. Some questions may ask for additional documents or simple diagrams of your systems. Don’t worry if you are not technical, this is more about complimenting your core documentation.
Once the questionnaire has been completed and returned back to us, your consultant will start analysing the information. Some of the details may result in a follow up e-mail requesting clarification or more information. We appreciate that some customers may be paying us for our time, not paying us for you to do most of the work so we will try to keep this as concise as possible. Out of hours telephone conversations can be set up, if you would rather speak to your consultant first hand for this exchange of additional information.
Once we have the required amount of information, the consultant will then compile your Health check Report. As with most consultancy service's, there is always a risk that the customer ends up thinking "you have just repeated what I have told you" or "my report contains a set of standard answers". I would be foolish if I said that's not the case. Part of your report will confirm the risks that you have highlighted, and due to the nature of ITIL having standard processes, some of the report content will apply to a number of customers. One of the reasons we are able to keep out costs low and offer the business healthcheck free of charge, is due to our development of set responses for given situations.
We hope that as well as the standard responses, we will be able to present specific solutions to your business's IT deployment and suggestions on how you can implement this yourself. Prices for a small business with 20PC's / Users and up to 5 key systems are offered free of charge. Other sized business's can be priced upon request.
2) Supplier Health check: As with our Customer Health check, the supplier health check is designed to review your IT suppliers to ensure you are getting the best value for your money, the availability and break/fix times are being adhered to and generally speaking, what you have signed up for is being delivered. To enable us to perform this health check you will need to be happy to provide us with any contract or service agreements as well as giving us performance information or any reports they provide you with. Finally, to allow us to work with your suppliers, you will need to inform them of our role.
The level of data collection by questionnaire will be much less as the purpose of this health check is to see how your supplier is performing. Instead we will firstly review your contract and service agreements to see what you have signed up to. Once we understand your service we will then ask your supplier to demonstrate how they have been delivering this. If any Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) exist we will ask them to show us their reporting and how they have reached those figures.
Once we are happy that we know how they are delivering your services, a report will be sent to yourself (and if you require it, your supplier). Once again this will contain recommendations on how your specific relationship with your supplier can be improved as well as some standard recommendations from the ITIL processes.
